On\u00a0January\u00a019,\u00a02026\u00a0our\u00a0SUCCEEDS\u00a0training farm in Tay Ninh Province hosted a high-level delegation from the Netherlands as part of the\u00a0<\/span>Dutch Innovation Mission on Salinity<\/span><\/b>. The group of\u00a0<\/span>23 companies, knowledge institutes and public\u00a0organizations<\/span><\/b>\u00a0was led by C\u00e9line van\u00a0Maaren\u00a0from the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, and\u00a0<\/span>Ra\u00efssa Marteaux, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City<\/span><\/b>. Our team, led by\u00a0<\/span>Siebe van Wijk, Managing Director of The Fruit Republic<\/span><\/b>, welcomed the delegation with a presentation on the Vietnamese citrus sector and the\u00a0objectives\u00a0of SUCCEEDS, followed by a guided farm tour.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The visit offered a practical window into what we are building on the ground. Participants moved through the farm in smaller groups, exploring the climate-smart systems\u00a0the SUCCEEDS team\u00a0put in place to address some of the most pressing challenges facing citrus growers in the Mekong Delta \u2014 salinity intrusion, groundwater\u00a0depletion\u00a0and increasingly erratic rainfall patterns. Among the solutions on show were the\u00a0<\/span>on-farm rainwater harvesting reservoir<\/span><\/b>\u00a0that\u00a0drastically reduces\u00a0the need for groundwater extraction during the dry season, the\u00a0<\/span>drip irrigation and fertigation systems<\/span><\/b>\u00a0connected to it,\u00a0<\/span>solar-powered pumps<\/span><\/b>\u00a0that supply water in the dry season and drain excess water during heavy rains, and improved pruning and branch-bending techniques for better light penetration, higher yields and a greater share of premium-grade fruit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Consul General Ra\u00efssa Marteaux and Ms. \u0110inh Th\u1ecb Ph\u01b0\u01a1ng Khanh, Vice Director of the Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Environment,\u00a0concluded\u00a0the visit by\u00a0<\/span>planting citrus\u00a0seedlings themselves<\/span><\/b>\u00a0on the training farm.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Following the visit, the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture’s international agriculture platform\u00a0<\/span>Agroberichten\u00a0Buitenland<\/span><\/b>\u00a0published a detailed feature on SUCCEEDS, documenting what the delegation saw and placing our work within the wider context of\u00a0Dutch-Vietnamese\u00a0agricultural cooperation on climate resilience and sustainable horticulture in the Mekong Delta.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
